Department of Legal Metrology, Karnataka issues Registration Certificate for all Manufacturers / Packers / Importers of Karnataka State for any package commodities. These Registration Certificates have the validity of lifetime and if any changes have to be made then the licensee has to apply for Amendment of Certificates.

The Procedure to obtain registration certificate remains same for all three types. Steps to be followed are as follow:
• 1. Register / Create An Account in Online Application
• 2. Login With Valid Login Credentials
• 3. Select The Appropriate License Type Under 'Apply For New License' link
• 4. Fill In The Online Application Form
• 5. Upload The Required Documents
• 6. Click On Preview Button To Verify & Confirm The Application Form
• 7. Submit The Application
• 8. Click On Preview To Get The Printout Of Submitted Application Form
• 9. Submit Self Attested Photocopies Of Uploaded Documents & Application Form by visiting concerned office
• 10. Concerned Officer will visit the location for spot inspection
• 11. Once everything is correct, the licensee has to pay new license fee
• 12. Obtain The Electronic Copy Of License

NOTE: There Is No Validity For This Kind Of License & Considered To Be Valid Through-Out So No Renewal Of Licenses But Licensee Can Apply For Amendments.
There is also no validity for this type of Licence. It is considered to be valid through-out.
And the procedure for applying remains the same for Manufacturer, Packer & Importer.
